Management of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) invites qualified
Tanzanians to apply for positions for Tutorial Assistants (TA’s) (<35 age="" and="" assistant="" br="" lecturers="" of="" years="" yrs="">
Applicants are advised
to note that the minimum GPA of 3.8 or an average of B for unclassified
degrees such as that of Veterinary and Medical graduates at
undergraduate level applies for TA’s and 3.5 at BSc/BA level or
equivalent (i.e. an average of B for Veterinary and Medical graduates)
and a good Masters degree is applicable for those with postgraduate
qualifications. Only registered Veterinarians will be considered for
interviews.
During application the
applicant should state the Department, Position and Discipline one is
vying for. Applicants are advised to note that salary packages and
fringe benefits shall be as per Treasury Registrar’s Salaries Circular
No. 3 of 2013.

wood energy and non – timber forest products. The applicant should be in
possession of BSc Forestry or related fields and a MSc in Forestry with

14. DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MEDICINE AND PUBLIC HEALTH
Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) for applicants in possession of BVSc/BVM
degree from a recognised Institution with an overall average of at least
“B” in all courses at undergraduate studies. The Candidate should also
have at least scored “B” in Veterinary Medicine courses at undergraduate
studies. Possession of a Masters degree related to Veterinary Internal
Medicine will be an added advantage. The candidate must have worked in a
large or small animal practise facility for at least two years.
15. DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY SURGERY AND THERIOGENOLOGY
Tutorial Assistant (1 Post) in the discipline of Veterinary Surgery for
applicants in possession of a BVM/BVSc from a recognised University
with an overall average score for all subjects of “B” and above. Must
have scored an average of “B” in Veterinary Surgery courses in the 3rd,
4th and 5th years at undergraduate level.
Assistant Lecturer (1
Post) in the discipline of Theriogenology for applicant in possession
of BVM/BVSc and a Masters with course work and Dissertation in
Theriogenology. The applicant must have relevant working experience of
at least three years.
16. DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MICROBIOLOGY AND PARASITOLOGY
Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) in the discipline of Veterinary Immunology
for applicants in possession of a BVM degree and MVM/MVSc/MSc in
Veterinary Immunology from a recognised University and who have an
overall “B” grade or higher at Bachelor degree and should in addition
have scored “B” grade or above in Immunology.
Assistant
Lecturer (2 Posts) in the discipline of Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology
for applicants in possession of a BSc/MD/BVM degree and MSc in
Molecular Biology from a recognised University.
Lecturer (1

Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) for applicants in possession of a of a
BVM/BVSc and MVM/MSc in Veterinary Anatomy. The applicant must have at
least a “B+” in Veterinary Anatomy at undergraduate level and “B+” at
MSc. Working experience will be an added advantage.
19. DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PATHOLOGY
Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) for applicants in possession of a BVM/BVSc
and Masters degree in Veterinary Pathology. The applicant must have a
minimum average of “B” in Pathology subjects (i.e. General, Systematic,
Special and Clinical Pathology) or at least two of these subjects passed
at a minimum of “B” grade at undergraduate level.
20. DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES
Assistant Lecture (1 post) in the discipline of Meteorology. Holders of
a MSc. in Meteorology or related degree programs with strong
specialisation in Meteorology, Instrumentation and Meteological Data
Analysis and Display System. In addition, s/he must have a good BSc.
Degree majoring in Physics and Mathematics and/or Environmental Sciences
and Management.
Assistant Lecture (1 post) in the discipline
of Geography. Holders of MSc. in either Agricultural Systems and
Location, or Agriculture and Rural Settlement Planning. In addition s/he
must possess a Bachelor degree which covers most of the course related
to the above disciplines and passed adequately.
21. DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
Assistant Lecturer (1 post) in the discipline of Microbiology.
Possession of a good MSc. Degree in Microbiology (Environmental/Applied
Microbiology or related fields). In addition, s/he must have adequate
coverage of the relevant courses at BSc. which should have been passed
with a minimum average of B grade.
Assistant Lecturer (1 post)

Assistant Lecturer (2 posts) in the discipline of Languages and
Linguistics for applicants in possession of a Master’s degree in
Languages and Linguistics (with a bias in English and/or French). In
addition, they should have a good Bachelor’s degree in Languages
(English and/or French).
24. DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATICS
Assistant lecturer (1 Post) in the discipline of Geo-information for
applicants in possession of Masters Degree in Computer Sciences, with
specialization in Geo - information. In addition the candidate must
possess a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering and Information
technology or Computer Science or Information Systems or Informatics.
Working experience/teaching and competence in computer programming in
low and high level language will be an added advantage.
Assistant lecturer (1 Post) in the discipline of Image processing for
applicants with possession of Masters Degree in Computer Sciences,
specializing in image processing. In addition the candidate must possess
a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology or
Computer Science or Information Systems or Informatics. Working
experience in computer graphics, knowledge based systems; computer

Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) the applicant must possess a Masters degree
in Computer Science (specializing in Artificial Intelligence). The
candidate should have at least two (2) years working experience in
teaching knowledge based systems and either computer graphics/image

engineering/building works under close supervision.
