Veterinary Public Health Services Section

The Section will be performs the following activities:
(i)           Facilitate and monitor meat hygiene (including meat, abattoir slaughter facilities and meat factories inspection);
(ii)          Facilitate and monitor milk and milk products quality (including milk and milk factories inspection);
(iii)        Set and maintain standards for livestock inputs products and by products and to strengthen their regulatory services;
(iv)        Ensure safety and quality assurance of veterinary drugs vaccines and biological and other inputs;
(v)         Monitor and control veterinary drugs, pesticides residues and other toxicities in foods of animal origin;
(vi)        Formulate, coordinate and where applicable supervise implementation of control programmes for Zoonoses; and
(vii)      Facilitate and monitor forage and feedstuffs quality control.
This Section will be led by an Assistant Director.
